Performance Evidence and Model Assumptions

What these labels mean
Modeled means an educational assumption or computed result, not a device lab measurement by HearMetrics. Reported; unverified means the surrounding text attributes a result to another source, but the exact source-to-figure mapping has not been established. A citation to background research does not validate a precise product ranking.
HearMetrics does not conduct its own hearing aid lab testing. A result should be described as measured only when the named testing organization, exact model and tier, protocol, baseline, and source publication date are traceable. Until then, do not treat the imported figures as a standardized head-to-head test.
Device assumptions used by the current model
Model documentation date: October 31, 2026. This date records the assumptions; it is not a study publication date.
| Model named in the site | Modeled SNR benefit | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|
| Phonak Audéo Sphere Infinio | 4.5 dB | Modeled. Source: current HearMetrics simulator configuration. Exact technology tier, fitting, and study publication date are not established for this figure. No matched physical test protocol is documented. |
| Oticon Intent | 4.0 dB | Modeled. Source: current HearMetrics simulator configuration. Exact technology tier, fitting, and study publication date are not established for this figure. No matched physical test protocol is documented. |
| Starkey Genesis / Omega AI (families grouped in imported model) | 3.5 dB | Modeled. Source: current HearMetrics simulator configuration. Exact technology tier, fitting, and study publication date are not established for this figure. No matched physical test protocol is documented. |
| Signia Pure C&G BCT IX | 3.5 dB | Modeled. Source: current HearMetrics simulator configuration. Exact technology tier, fitting, and study publication date are not established for this figure. No matched physical test protocol is documented. |
| Widex Allure RIC 440 | 3.0 dB | Modeled. Source: current HearMetrics simulator configuration. Exact technology tier, fitting, and study publication date are not established for this figure. No matched physical test protocol is documented. |
| Fortell AI / Evoke (naming differs in imported content) | 7.5 dB | Modeled. Source: current HearMetrics simulator configuration. Exact technology tier, fitting, and study publication date are not established for this figure. No matched physical test protocol is documented. |
Baseline: the same modeled acoustic scene without the selected hearing aid benefit. Conditions: user-selected scene, distance, hearing-profile adjustment, coupling, and accessory assumptions. These are simulation inputs, not a standardized physical test. Models within a grouped family must not be assumed equivalent.
Model methodology · Background research. The research bibliography supports general principles; it does not currently provide a verified study for every model-specific number.
Reported laboratory results and derived audio figures
The simulator also contains imported ratings and audio-derived differences. These use different baselines and must not be equated with the model-benefit values above. For a separately published product assessment, see HearAdvisor’s Phonak Sphere Infinio 90 review, dated September 15, 2026. Its rating scale, fit selection, and protocol are separate from HearMetrics’ 4.5 dB assumption; that page is not a citation proving the assumption.
If a figure’s test configuration, baseline, or publication date is absent, the inline evidence disclosure says so. Unverified imported values should be used as questions to investigate, not as buying guarantees.
